Overview
Bardiya National Park is a pristine and less-explored wildlife sanctuary located in the western Terai region of Nepal. Covering an area of 968 square kilometers, it is the largest national park in the country and home to an incredible variety of flora and fauna. Dense sal forests, grasslands, and riverine habitats create a perfect environment for diverse wildlife, including the endangered Bengal tiger, one-horned rhinoceros, wild elephants, swamp deer, and the elusive Gangetic dolphin. The park is a paradise for nature lovers and adventure seekers. Visitors can enjoy guided jungle walks, thrilling jeep safaris, and serene river safaris along the Karnali River. Birdwatchers will be delighted with over 400 species of birds, including hornbills, kingfishers, and the Bengal florican. Bardiya also offers unique experiences like fishing, camping, and staying in treehouses or Tharu homestays. The indigenous Tharu community adds cultural richness to the experience, offering traditional dances, local cuisine, and warm hospitality. Bardiya is ideal for travelers looking for an off-the-beaten-path adventure away from the crowds. Best visited between October and May, Bardiya promises authentic wildlife encounters, natural beauty, and cultural immersion in one of Nepal’s most unspoiled regions. "Just arrive — we’ll take care of the rest with comfort, care, and personalized service throughout your journey."
